To do so he must travel into the Amazon forest to meet the people of the River Pirá-paraná. There he encounters four closely related people living on the river, including the Barasana. But before he can witness this magnificent and ancient ritual, he must journey upstream and deep into the forest to visit and learn about the most sacred places in the river people’s universe
